JICA Hearing in JICA Contact Mission Project for Devlopment Master Plan in East Kalimantan
Tuesday, (01/02/2024) - In today's meeting, East Kalimantan Province Bappeda facilitated meetings with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Ministry of National Development Planning (VAT) /Bappenas to unite commitments in carrying out technical cooperation in the "Project for Development Master Plan in East Kalimantan." This meeting was held in the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda Propeda Meeting Room, aiming to discuss the Tri-City Development Plan (Capital City (IKN), Samarinda, and Balikpapan).
During his visit to Bappeda, JICA accompanied by Bappenas discussed a general description of the development of Tri-City. The discussion involves aspects of connectivity, accessibility, development and management of smart cities (smart city), which is in line with the initial design planning documents (Ranwal) RPJPD, RPJMD, and RTRW. In addition to Bappeda, there were also related OPDs that were involved in the development and development of Tri-City such as Samarinda City Bappelitbangda, Transportation Agency, Public Works and Public Housing Office and Communication and Information Office.
As information, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is a foreign aid institution from the Japanese government, focusing on economic and social development in partner countries. JICA has established various cooperation with Indonesia, providing support in the fields of infrastructure, education, health, and also economic development.
In the coil of cooperation between JICA and Indonesia the focus is on the development of Tri-City (IKN, Samarinda, and Balikpapan), especially in the aspects of connectivity, accessibility, and transformation towards Smart City. < /P>
There are several things that concentrate on the discussion. Namely, related to the Economic Superhub. This idea aims to realize the green economy and increase economic growth and community welfare. There are two locations planned to be the center of the economic superhub in East Kalimantan, namely the Kariangau and Samarinda areas, have the potential to support the downstreaming of the industry by 53%.
Next, the main focus in the collaboration is about the importance of connectivity and access roads in the area both around Tri-City and from and towards IKN. In the spotlight especially access roads to Apt Pranoto Airport which is still inadequate, especially when it rains. In addition, it is hoped that there will be infrastructure for handling floods, and connectivity in the Kariangau area as an industrial area later.
In addition, the development of Tri-City focuses on the transformation of energy towards renewable fuel. In the future, fossil energy is not expected to be used anymore, so that it is powered by transformation to renewable energy by 70% which is anticipated will run before 2045.
This collaboration marks a big step in supporting the vision of sustainable development in Indonesia. Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province and JICA together with the Ministry of PPN/Bappenas together are committed to realizing a sustainable tri-city, environmentally friendly, and providing significant economic benefits for the community. Through infrastructure and technology support is expected to realize a positive transformation in East Kalimantan and welcome a better future for Indonesia.
