Dissemination of Synergy Study Results for Regional Priority Projects and New IKN Development
Thursday, 23 December 2021. Mrs. Secretary (Charmarijaty, ST, M.Si) representing the Head of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda, was present as a resource person at the meeting "Dissemination of Priority Project Synergy Study Results Regions and New IKN Development” which was held online (virtual) by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas of the Republic of Indonesia.
Ms. Charmarijaty, ST, M.Si delivered a presentation in response to the results of a temporary study conducted by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas regarding the synergy of regional priority projects and the development of new IKN. In his presentation and response, it was stated that regional readiness to welcome IKN was demonstrated by the availability of supporting infrastructure for roads and bridges, power plants, international airports, international ports, industrial areas, agricultural areas and the availability of raw water to support IKN.
However, it is important to note that the availability of existing IKN supporting infrastructure still needs to be improved and developed in order to support IKN considering that currently the existing infrastructure (especially road and transportation access) is still not running optimally. In relation to the synergy between the central and regional governments in supporting IKN, Mrs. Charmarijaty said it was necessary to pay attention to a number of development priority directions that had been stated in development planning documents at the central and regional levels. On this occasion, a number of policy priorities for development direction in all districts/cities were also conveyed that needed to be known and used as references in preparing studies prepared by a team from the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas of the Republic of Indonesia.
