Head of East Kalimantan Bappeda Discusses Sustainable Economic Transformation in TVRI Kaltim Public Dialogue
East Kalimantan continues to prepare itself to face the economic transformation which is on the national and regional agenda for 2025-2045. In the Public Dialogue event which was attended by the Head of the East Kalimantan Bappeda, Yusliando, various strategic steps were taken to ensure that East Kalimantan was able to adapt to changes in the future.
Yusliando explained that the East Kalimantan Bappeda had initiated a Regional Consultation Forum as a forum for stakeholders to formulate planning, monitoring and evaluating the implementation of economic transformation in this region. "Accelerating economic transformation is collaborative. We hope that all stakeholders will actively provide suggestions and input to speed up this process," he said.
The urgency of accelerating economic transformation in East Kalimantan is very important, considering that the East Kalimantan APBD's dependence on the mining and quarrying sector is quite large .
Currently, around 60% of East Kalimantan's APBD comes from this sector. In facing this challenge, the East Kalimantan Bappeda emphasizes the need for economic diversification, with a focus on developing manufacturing-based sectors.
The initial strategy to achieve this goal is to facilitate dialogue between the government, society and business actors to absorb public aspirations. Yusliando emphasized that cooperation from all parties is very necessary so that East Kalimantan is no longer dependent on mining and quarrying by 2045.
Yusliando stated, "We hope that all stakeholders will actively jointly formulate strategies in facing economic transformation.
