Kunker Gub.Kaltim to Central Java & in Jogja

Solo, Central Java - DI Yogyakarta 1/20/12. The Governor of East Kalimantan Dr.H. Rusmadi.MS as well as several SKPD heads in the scope of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government held a working visit to Central Java Province and Yogyakarta Special Region. The working visit is mainly carried out in an effort to establish cooperation related to agriculture in the broad sense, especially the development of rice-food estate in East Kalimantan.

In his explanation of the construction of rice-food estate in East Kalimantan, the Governor said that until January 17, 2012 land had been identified as an area of ​​331,183 hectares that could be used as a location for the development of rice-food estate spread across 10 districts in East Kalimantan. Until now, as many as 16 companies have been identified with 350,000 ha of land requirements for various kinds of commodities, such as rice, corn, fisheries and animal husbandry. In his presentation the Governor of East Kalimantan hoped that cooperation with Central Java Province and the Special Region of Yogyakarta, especially in relation to the provision of trained, educated and experienced labor in the field of agriculture in the broad sense.

The Provincial Government of Central Java and Yogyakarta welcomed the cooperation plans offered by the Provincial Government of East Kalimantan. In terms of the success of the Food Security of Central Java Province which consisted of 35 districts/cities in a steady position and experienced a rice surplus of 2.9 million tons in 2010. In line with the Government of Central Java, the government in Jogyakarta also welcomed the offer of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government. This offer is expected to be a solution in order to reduce population density, where currently Jogyakarta is the 2nd most populous province after DKI Jakarta. Another thing that can also be cooperated with DIY is the strengthening of MSMEs and HR development.
