Submission of the results of the study of land cover and identification of the potential of HHBK and Biofarma in the customary forest of Hemaq Baniung in the Damai KPHP
Wednesday, 12/01/2022. Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province represented by the Economy and Natural Resources (Kasubbid SDA LH, Agus Taswanto, ST) attended virtual activities "Submission of the results of the study of land cover and identification of the potential of HHBK and Biofarma in the Hemaq Baniung Customary Forest in the Damai KPHP".
This meeting is intended to conduct a focused discussion on the potential while responding to the proposal of the planned drinking water development plan through the use of springs in the customary forest area of Hemaq Beniung.
Damai KPHP has asked GGI to carry out land cover analysis in the customary forest area of Hemaq Beniung and pay attention to the results of the study of land cover and identify the potential of wood and biopharmaca products in the customary forest of Hemaq Beniung.
Hemaq Beniung's customary forest has an area of 48.85 ha and is in the village of Juaq Asa, Barong Tongkok District, West Kutai Regency. Hemaq Beniung Customary Forest is determined based on the Decree of the Minister of Environment and Forestry regarding the determination of the inclusion of Hemaq Beniung customary forests to the indigenous people of Kampung Juaq ASA with the number SK.4618/MenLHK-PSKL/PKTHA/PSL.1/9/2017 on September 5, 2017.
Based on the results of a study of the opportunity for Hemaq Beniung customary forest as a source of clean water for packaged drinking water (AMDK), this location has the potential with a large amount of water discharge. But in terms of water quality based on water quality standard parameters, many parameters are still not in accordance with the standards.
With regard to the identification and inventory of medicinal plants in the customary forest of Hemaq Beniung, that from the deepening results carried out as many as 71 species of plants including 69 genus and 45 families used by the Ethnic Dayak Tunjung community in the Juaq ASA village. The most widely used plants derived from the families of Lamiaceae, Asteraceae and Fabaceae.
