Samarinda City Level Stunting Discussion
Government and Human Development Sector Bappeda Prov. East Kalimantan attended the Samarinda City Stunting Conference at the Mangkupalas Room, Samarinda City Hall.

This consultation was carried out in order to ensure integration in the implementation of stunting reduction interventions jointly between OPDs responsible for services, non-governmental organizations and the community in priority locations (focus of handling).

The city of Samarinda, based on data in February 2023, has data on approximately 2,500 stunted babies, of which the highest is in Sungai Kunjang District with a number of 390, followed by Loa Janan Ilir District with a number of 380 and Samarinda Ilir with a number of 351 people. Meanwhile, the lowest number of stunting was in the Samarinda Kota sub-district with a total of 91 people.

In the achievement of specific intervention service coverage for Samarinda City in 2022, 43.51% of young women consumed TTD (blood supplement tablets) and 6.62% of prospective brides and grooms consumed TTD. With a national target according to presidential decree number 72 of 2021.

The results of the analysis of stunted data for Samarinda City in 2021 was 10.74 and decreased in 2022 to 9.8%. However, the latest data experienced an increase in February 2023 which became 12.7% with visits by toddlers to Posyandu in 2023 only 21.94% (average)

In supporting the acceleration of stunting reduction, Samarinda City has created a GenRe (Generation Planning) Ambassador Program and this organization is under the auspices of the Samarinda City DPPKB and has an early marriage prevention program for pre-marital companions for teenagers.
