Thursday, October 28, 2021. Head of Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province, Prof. Dr. Ir.H. M. Aswin, M.M, became a guest speaker in the New Capital Series Webinar Series (IKN) of the first session on "Considering the Aspirations of the Center and Regions on IKN" organized by the Center for Political Economic Research on the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).
Starting his presentation, Prof. Aswin expressed his appreciation for the holding of the webinar by Brin, which aims to find out the central and regional responses regarding IKN in East Kalimantan, find a meeting point of central and regional interests related to the construction of IKN and map the obstacles and opportunities of solutions related to the transfer of IKN.
The plan to move the state capital was submitted by the President on August 26, 2019 ago at the State Palace. All people of East Kalimantan are very proud and happy for the announcement and have high expectations that the transfer of the country's capital will increase the degree of community welfare in a sustainable manner.
The East Kalimantan government is committed to support the transfer of the capital of this country and will intelligently use it for the achievement of regional development goals. Until now, the economy of East Kalimantan still rests on primary and renewable resource products, especially oil and gas and coal as well as oil and gas -based processing industries. Efforts to carry out economic transformation towards downstreaming and renewable resources have been carried out for the past 13 years. The results began to be seen by increasing the contribution of the plantation sector and plantation -based processing industry.
