Webinar "Socialization of the Role of the Environmental Fund Management Agency and the Mechanism of Filing Financing"
Samarinda, June 10, 2021, 09.00 WITA . Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province attended the webinar activities on the socialization of the role of the Environmental Funds Management Agency and the mechanism for submitting financing virtually. The event was also attended by the East Kalimantan DDPI Secretariat, East Kalimantan Province Forestry Service, East Kalimantan Province DKP3A, East Kalimantan Province DPMPD, East Kalimantan Regional Secretariat Bureau, APHI Komda East Kalimantan and Mulawarman University. The event was opened by the Chairman of the Climate Change Regional Council (DDPI), Prof. Daddy Ruhiyat.
The resource person who filled out this activity included the Director of Collection and Development of Funds for the Environmental Fund Management Agency (BPDLH) of the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, Endah Tri Kurniawati.
Some of the things conveyed by the speakers present at this activity include:
- As a manifestation of the implementation of green development and a decline in Carbon emissions, especially in the implementation of the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCP-Carbon Fund) program from the World Bank (World Bank), which was held in East Kalimantan Province with an allocation
- Carbon emission reduction program supported by World Bank in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. Thus, the management of funds will still be an audit with BPK RI.
- The accuracy of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government is needed in managing funds, including supervision and facilitation of activities will be carried out by BPDLH.
Furthermore, BPDLH stressed that they are ready to assist the East Kalimantan Provincial Government in implementing related to the management of environmental funds. East Kalimantan Province is the only selected province in Indonesia for forest rescue programs from forest deforestation and degradation. As well as a great opportunity to obtain performance-based payments up to USD 110 million from donor countries through the World Bank as compensation if East Kalimantan is able to reduce 22 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) for the next five years.
