Enliven Traditional Sports Competitions
Samarinda, 4/1/12. Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province participated in enlivening traditional competitions, tug-of-war, pillow hitting and running using long terumpah
boys and girls led by the Head of Bappeda Kaltim, DR.H. Rusmadi.MS together with the Secretary of the East Kalimantan Bappeda, Ir.H. Nazrin, M.Si and Head of General Subdivision, Dra. Hj. AH. Yone May, M.Si in the parking lot of the East Kalimantan Governor's office, Jalan Gajah Mada Number 2 Samarinda.
Each of the sports competed in by the East Kalimantan Bappeda managed to get medals, including, the women's pillow club won second place (two) in the name of Stella Felicia Sinaga, S.Si; the running sport using the women's long trompah managed to win third place (three); in the names of Farisa, Kartinem, Tatik Patusuri while the male participants in the sport using the long trompah managed to win third place (three) in the names of Fani, Pino and Dayat; Meanwhile, the women's tug-of-war sport won VI (four), in the name of Misbahul Jannah, Sinta Lasmi, Sinta, Halimah Tusadiah, Winda, Suri, Heni.
The implementation of this traditional sports competition to welcome East Kalimantan's 56th birthday was opened directly by the Governor of East Kalimantan, DR.H. Awang Faroek and the person responsible for implementing sports is the East Kalimantan Youth and Sports Service.
In his speech and opening the event, the Governor of East Kalimantan said that this traditional competition is very important, especially for physical health and maintaining the culture of traditional sports among the community.
The Governor of East Kalimantan's comments were also proven in the field by participating in the traditional sport of tug-of-war between a team led by the Governor of East Kalimantan, all of the Governor's assistants and expert staff, facing the heads of the East Kalimantan SKPD including the Head of the East Kalimantan Bappeda, DR.Ir.H. Rusmadi.MS which was won by the East Kalimantan Governor's team with a score of 2-0.
The competition participants were attended by all SKPDs within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government starting from 8.00 WIT until 11.30 WIT. (Public Relations of the East Kalimantan Bappeda/Sukandar, S.Sos).
