Isra 'Mi'raj: The Prophet Muhammad SWT

Samarinda, 19/5/14. Bappeda East Kalimantan Province held an Isra' Mi'raj event with the theme "Commemorating the Isra' Mi'raj of the Great Prophet Muhammad SWT 1a._Peringatan_isramiroj_DSC_8898We Improve Friendship, Faith and Taqwa” in the East Kalimantan Bappeda Basic Pattern meeting room, Jl. Kusuma Bangsa No. 2 Samarinda. The participants were all Heads of Divisions, Heads of Subdivisions and Heads of Subdivisions, staff and outsourced staff from the Bappeda environment of East Kalimantan Province.

This event began with an opening by Plh. Head of Bappeda East Kalimantan Province, Ir.H. Nazrin, M.Sc. In delivering his speech, H. Nazrin said that "Isra' Mi'raj is an important event for us, in order to carry out all of Allah's commands and emulate the character and attitude of the Great Prophet Muhammad SAW in our daily lives." Pls. The Head of the East Kalimantan Bappeda invited all participants to emulate all the characteristics and attitudes of the Prophet in order to increase their faith and devotion to ALLAH SWT. The Isra Miraj experienced by Sayyidina Muhammad SAW is a suprarational event that ordinary people will find it difficult to believe, not because it doesn't make sense but it is more than just reasonable.

H. Nazrin added that the activities and work carried out by Bappeda may be worldly in nature, but they are always based on the belief that everything done in this world will definitely be held accountable in the afterlife.

Then the event continued with the reading of the holy Koran and its translation by the staff of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda and continued with the delivery of a spiritual shower by Ustadz H. Azwar Qowim.

In delivering spiritual guidance, Ustadz H. Azwar Qowim invited the congregation to reflect on one of the Prophet's hadiths which is considered the most frightening. It is not a hadith that explains the enormity of the grave, or even about hell. But about deeds (charity).

By quoting 2 verses from the Qur'an, Surah Az Zalzalah, verses 7 and 8, which mean "Whoever does good deeds as heavy as dzarrah, he will surely see (the reward). And whoever does evil even as much as dzarrah, he will surely see (reward) too." Ustadz Azwar explained that no matter how small a human's actions, good or bad, they will definitely be held accountable.2._DSC_8893

So the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah which explain about good deeds are considered scary because as we know, one of the pillars of faith is faith in angels. Where the angels that we know each carry out one task, but there are two angels who were ordered to carry out one task, namely the Angels Munkar and Nakir, to ask questions to humans who have been buried about all their deeds and deeds while living on earth.

Why is that, Ustadz Azwar said that this can be related to life in the Barzah realm, which is the beginning of true life, where the beginning of life has no limits. So before entering that life, it is appropriate for its inhabitants to be cleansed of all the bad things they have done while in this world by being held accountable.

"If wealth and family can leave us at death, then all that remains is charity," he said. If we are able to reflect on all of this then we will not be able to use our short life on earth to be extravagant or do things that violate Islamic law. So, this is where the importance of piety is because piety to Allah will guide our hearts to the right path.

The historical events of the Isra' Mi'raj of Rasulullah SAW, teach us the importance of a clean heart, just imagine that before that event the Prophet, who was ma'sum (awake) and noble, had to have his heart dissected before going on this journey by the angels Gabriel and Mikail. Only a clean heart will reach Allah SWT.

Therefore, we as humans (servants of God) must be able to cleanse our hearts. One of them is living with dhikrullah (remembering Allah). If our hearts are clean then we will be able to direct our work towards the blessing of Allah SWT, but if our hearts are dirty then we will only bring our works to be dominated by satisfaction and arrogance.

At the end of his lecture, Ustadz Azwar invited the congregation to recite dhikr together. Before closing the event with a prayer, he did not forget to remind people that people who live by dhikrullah have no one to fear except Allah SWT.
