Bappeda East Kalimantan Province through the Head of Economics and Natural Resources, Wahyu Gatut Purboyo attended the National Seminar entitled "Economic Transformation of East Kalimantan: Encouraging Inclusive and Sustainable Sectors as an Alternative to the Extractive Economy" organized by the Office Representative of Bank Indonesia East Kalimantan Province (KP BI Kaltim), Wednesday (4/12).
KP BI Kaltim carried out synergy and collaboration with Bappeda Kaltim in a seminar which was held in a hybrid manner in the Maratua Hall, KP BI Kaltim to disseminate the results of the East Kalimantan Economic Transformation study and encourage economic transformation in East Kalimantan Province.
This seminar was motivated by three main things. First, this seminar is in line with Indonesia's economic transformation agenda to achieve a Golden Indonesia 2045. Second, this seminar aims to identify alternative economic sectors outside mining and their development strategies, considering that the East Kalimantan economy is currently still very dependent on the coal mining sector. Third, East Kalimantan's economic transformation is important in line with the government's target to achieve Net Zero Emission (NZE) by 2060.
This seminar discusses various important topics related to economic transformation, such as the direction of economic transformation policy in Indonesia, the direction of energy transformation in Indonesia, and dissemination of the results of the East Kalimantan Economic Transformation study.** Speakers at this seminar include representatives from BAPPENAS, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, ISEI Samarinda Branch, as well as national economic experts and observers.
The offline participants of this seminar reached around 100 people from various agencies/institutions, including Provincial and Regency/City Governments, FORKOPIMDA, corporations, vertical agencies, banking, academics, associations, and media. Apart from that, this seminar will also invite online participants from ISEI in all provinces and GenBI of East Kalimantan Province. With collaboration from various stakeholders, this seminar is expected to provide a comprehensive picture of economic transformation and become a strong basis for formulating sectoral development strategies.
