Bappeda Kaltim as Resource Person in the Context of Expert Discussion on the Potential of East Kalimantan Peat in Providing Food for the Capital of the Archipelago

Tuesday, 20/08/2022 Head of Agriculture and Fisheries Sub-Sector Agustina Rahmawati, S.Pi and staff attended the Expert Discussion agenda on the Potential of East Kalimantan Peat in Providing Food for the Capital of the Archipelago which held by the East Kalimantan Regional Council for Climate Change (DDPI). The agenda was carried out at the Midtown Samarinda Hotel and via Zoom Meeting.

Mrs. Agustina Rahmawati delivered material on East Kalimantan Agricultural Development Strategy in the Context of Food Provision and Economic Development of IKN. In Food Security and Insecurity Prov. East Kalimantan 2021 shows that there is 1 sub-district that is vulnerable to food insecurity (0.97%) out of a total of 103 sub-districts, namely Kec. Tanjung Harapan, Kab. Paser with characteristics, namely a high ratio of consumption per availability, a high disadvantaged population and a high ratio of health workers. Meanwhile, the situation of needs compared to the availability of the Province. In East Kalimantan 2021, there are 69 sub-districts (70%) out of 103 sub-districts experiencing a deficit so there is a need to increase food availability to support East Kalimantan as an IKN.
