East Kalimantan KPJU Research Dissemination

Tuesday, 08/02/2022, Head of Subdivision. Trade Industry, Investment Cooperatives and Tourism BAPPEDA of East Kalimantan Province, H. Dany Fachriza, ST attended the agenda for the Dissemination of Research Results on Commodities/Products/Types of Business (KPJU) for Leading MSMEs in East Kalimantan Province in 2021.

On this agenda, Berka Semi Strategika as the resource person said that Research on the Development of Leading MSME Commodities/Products/Business Types in 2021 in East Kalimantan Province was carried out with the aim of:

  1. Know and understand regional profiles; MSME profile; Government policy regarding the development of MSMEs; and the Role of Banking in the development of MSMEs;
  2. Provide information about superior KPJUs that need to be prioritized for development;
  3. Provide information and problems arising from each cross-sectoral Leading KPJU in each district/city;
  4. Provide information about potential KPJU for MSMEs;
  5. Provide policy recommendations to the Regional Government and Provincial Government in developing KPJU for superior MSMEs;

5 Leading KPJU for MSMEs per Main Sector in East Kalimantan, namely: Processing Industry; Agriculture; Trading; Fisheries and Forestry Management & Logging;

  1. There are 3 Development Strategies for Disadvantaged Regions 2020-2024 Ministry of National Development Planning-Bappenas;
  2. Accelerating regional development with a growth corridor approach based on regional excellence and equity corridors with the development of buffer areas (hinterland); fulfillment of basic rights (SDGs);
  3. Affirmative development, District priority locations for borders/outermost small islands;
  4. Integrated village development; develop superior commodities/products for villages and rural areas

Experience during the pandemic shows that the mission of spurring digitalization is very important to encourage MSMEs to advance to class. The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the shift in MSME business activities from offline to online as well as the use of digital technology. The number of MSMEs connected to digital platforms increased 105% to 16.4 million MSMEs.
