Public Discussion on Increasing the Distribution of Quality Education Formulating Government, School Consensus
Wednesday, 09/11/2022 Young Expert Planner Sub Coordinator for Human Resources Development, Provincial Bappeda. East Kalimantan; Said Aboe Hanifah, S.Sos attended the Public Discussion agenda with the theme "Increasing the Distribution of Quality Education: Formulating a Consensus for Government, Schools & Teachers in East Kalimantan Province."
-
The discussion focused on innovations to expand quality education at the elementary and middle school levels which included innovations provided by teachers, for example Kukar Pintar Idaman which is a combination of Kukar Smart (live streaming learning via YouTube) and Kukar Pintar (creation of learning videos, development of effective teaching methods, development of practice questions and exams with HOTS principles, development of LKPD and dissemination of practices), applied to elementary and middle school levels. This program is also supported by the Education Office and the Kutai Kartanegara Regency Government.
-
Meanwhile, the innovation proposed by the Principal is implementing character-based education that is adapted to students' social backgrounds (Example: motivating students to be enthusiastic about going to school by facilitating the learning process of students who are at risk of dropping out of school, such as conducting home visits; providing rewards when there are positive changes in students); Changing the teacher's mind-set to see students' backgrounds & have positive prejudices; Mobilizing students' parents to support learning at school; Providing reading corners to increase literacy; collaborative initiatives with various companies & non-profit institutions as development partners; joint supervision initiatives with parents and the community through evening study hours programs; Utilization of information and digital technology and forming zone-based teacher communities at sub-district level.
-
The innovations carried out by Supervisors and the Education Department are programs that can increase teacher and student motivation as well as support in the form of regulations. Optimizing cooperation with development partners and the company's CSR programs; and other innovations.
-
Efforts to spread quality education in East Kalimantan geographically with regional contours dominated by mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes and poor road conditions, especially in the 3T area. The qualifications of PTT teachers who aspire to become first aid teachers do not meet national standards, even though they have a lot of teaching experience and the burden on the first aid teacher honorarium budget. As well as digital infrastructure which has uneven access to electricity and the internet and a lack of devices to support the teaching and learning process.
