East Java DPRD Visits East Kalimantan Bappeda, Discusses Thinking Mechanisms and Challenges of Green Economic Transformation

Samarinda, (17/09) - East Java DPRD which is led directly by the Chair of the East Java DPRD, Drs. H. M. Musyafak Rouf, made a working visit to Bappeda East Kalimantan. In this meeting, the East Java DPRD group discussed the Principles of Thought (Pokir) mechanism and strategies for green economic transformation in East Kalimantan.

The East Kalimantan Bappeda explained that all pokir are now more orderly because they are required to enter the Regional Government Information System (SIPD). The proposal was then discussed in a proposal dictionary by the East Kalimantan DPRD DPRD Special Committee, and after being ratified the data was locked so that it could not be changed again midway. With this system, people's aspirations can be more focused and remain in line with regional development priorities.

This system is appreciated by the East Java DPRD because it is considered more transparent and structured. Because in East Java Province itself there are still problems related to the thinking mechanism.

Apart from the thinking mechanism, discussions related to development towards green economic transformation were also raised. So far, the East Kalimantan economy is still very dependent on the mining sector, so economic growth tends to stagnate at 2-3 percent even though PAD is high. Because of this, East Kalimantan has begun to shift to the industrial sector by preparing three strategic industrial areas in Kariangau, Maloy and Buluminung as a first step towards a more sustainable economy.

The Chair of the East Java DPRD expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome given, while the Head of the East Kalimantan Bappeda said that this meeting provided a lot of valuable insight for both area.
