FGD in-depth analysis of regional development evaluation

bappeda.kaltimprov.go.id - Within the framework of development planning, the role of evaluation is important and strategic as a basis for determining themes, targets and direction of planning policies for the next period. Carrying out this evaluation is also important to provide lessons learned for future development implementation.

In connection with this matter, Bappeda Provincial. East Kalimantan actively participated in the Forum Group Discussion (FGD) Deepening Analysis of Regional Development Evaluation (EPD) which was carried out online by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas c.q Deputy for Monitoring, Evaluation and Control of Development on 26 August 2020.

The focus of EPD activities in 2020 which was attended by the Provincial Bappeda. East Kalimantan, BPKAD Prov. East Kalimantan, and Mulawarman University are: 1) evaluation of key regional performance achievements; and 2) evaluation of regional adaptation in handling COVID-19 based on aspects of regional planning, budgeting and initiation. Furthermore, the aim of the event is to confirm and deepen information regarding the influence of COVID-19 and regional efforts in achieving macro performance and human development in East Kalimantan Province.

In his presentation, the Head of the Provincial Bappeda. East Kalimantan, represented by the Head of Regional Development Planning and Control (Charmarijaty, S.T., M.Si.) conveyed about Regional Efforts to Accelerate the Achievement of Development Performance and Response to Handling Covid-19 in East Kalimantan Province, as well as the condition of East Kalimantan's Macroeconomic achievements and several efforts to handle East Kalimantan's Covid-19, namely in terms of planning adjustments. Apart from that, the condition of the East Kalimantan economy in the second quarter of 2020 was conveyed, which experienced a contraction of 5.46% and the performance of the business field which was still moving positively, namely:
- Performance of the Health Services and Social Activities Business Field,
- Performance of the Water Procurement, Garbage Management, Waste and Recycling Business Field, and
- Information and Communication Business Field Performance.
Then it was also presented the condition of achievement of regional development priority targets for the first semester of 2020 which were affected. Covid-19 and adjustments to changes in East Kalimantan's Macroeconomic targets.
In relation to the Regional Apparatus Work Plan, the position of changes to the RKPD of East Kalimantan Province is already at the Gubernatorial Regulation drafting stage, where the results of the facilitation of the final draft of changes to the RKPD have been presented by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Furthermore, it is conveyed regarding the current condition of the development of Covid-19 in East Kalimantan which has reached more than two thousand conformations with a death rate of up to one hundred people and efforts from the policy side to handle Covid-19 in East Kalimantan.
