FGD Increased exports of non -oil and gas, non -coal exports, processed food product sectors
Samarinda, (27/07/2023). Provincial Bappeda. East Kalimantan, represented by Economic Sector staff, attended the FGD on the Development of Exports of Non-Oil and Gas, Non-Coal, Processed Food Products, which took place in the Lempok meeting room at the office of the Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives and UMKM.
-
This activity was opened by Plt. Head of the Disperindagkop Service, Mrs. Heni Purwaningsih, continued with knowledge sharing by JFT Goods Quality Examiner, Radinal Muchtar. With the material "Food Safety Standards and Laboratory Tests". The discussion was led by the Head of Trade, Disperindagkop and UKM, East Kalimantan Province, Mr. Ali Wardana.
-
Coal commodities dominate East Kalimantan's exports with an amount of over 70%. Coal is a non-renewable commodity and so reducing dependence on coal commodities should be a priority for developing non-coal non-oil and gas exports, from renewable resources and processed products.
-
East Kalimantan Province has tried to establish a processing industry development program with the Joint Production House (RPB) program for SMEs. The RPB that will be built based on the studies produced later must have GMP and HACCP certification. GMP and HACCP certification are food safety certifications and are required for a processed food product to be accepted by the international market.
-
HACCP standards have different grades (A,B,C) and different countries require different HACCP grades too. BKIPM Balikpapan helps business actors in the fisheries and marine sectors to penetrate exports. East Kalimantan has an exporter of shrimp with quality that has been recognized by the world as the best shrimp, which is cultivated naturally, namely PT. Syam Surya Mandiri (SSM)
-
Facilities from Customs and Excise for production equipment and other raw materials for SMEs whose purpose is for production to be exported. Ease of import for small and medium industries (KITE - ease of import for export purposes. IKM) Exemption from import duties and suspension of VAT payments.
-
Socialization is needed for this kind of convenience for exporters. Currently in East Kalimantan there are only two companies that have used it, namely 1 in Balikpapan and 1 in Samarinda.
-
What is of concern is that exports of East Kalimantan agricultural products are often only occasional. RPB is a future hope for East Kalimantan's export products to become increasingly varied. The critical point for the export of horticultural products is packaging.
-
Growing processing industries to create more value-added products in East Kalimantan and having standardization and certification that are accepted nationally and internationally, is a must to increase non-oil and non-stone exports bara, considering that East Kalimantan has extraordinary potential for superior commodities but has not yet been exploited properly and correctly.
