Focus Group Discussion (FGD) In-Depth Study Visit Tim Konsultan JICA

Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province through the Head of Infrastructure and Regional Affairs, Mr. Baihaqi Hazami received the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Consultant Team in the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) In-Depth Study Visit of the JICA Consultant Team which was carried out together with elements of the East Kalimantan Provincial Bappeda, Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) related to the East Kalimantan Provincial Government, BUMN & BUMD, as well as Business World Organizations in the East Kalimantan Provincial Bappeda Regional Police Meeting Room.

For your information, the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and JICA have held a series of meetings in December 2022 and JICA expressed a commitment to provide support for the development of the Archipelago Capital Region (IKN) and surrounding areas through the Technical Cooperation Project scheme for the development of 3 regions (lKN, Samarinda and Balikpapan). As part of implementing this activity, the consultant team from JICA carried out an In-Depth Study Visit in the form of an initial survey, data collection and holding focus group discussions in East Kalimantan, one of which was at the East Kalimantan Provincial Bappeda together with relevant stakeholders.

In his presentation, Mr. Baihaqi conveyed the potential of the region to collaborate with IKN as a partner region as shown in the 4th slide photo.

The FGD continued with technical discussions together with the relevant OPDs within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government, BUMN & BUMD, as well as Business World Organizations.

As for the Team Leader from JICA, Mr. Yasuo Kannami said that the results of the JICA Consultant Team will be a final report which is planned to be completed in November 2023 and then a meeting will be held with investors in Japan regarding investments that can be collaborated and are in line with IKN's needs.
