East Kalimantan Governor Plans to Plant Corn

Tanah Paser, Tuesday 8/11/2016. Governor of East Kalimantan, Dr.H. Awang Faroek Ishak plans to plant maize in Petangis village, Batu Engau District, Paser Regency with the Regent of Paser, Yusriansyah.

Declaration of corn planting throughout East Kalimantan covering an area of ​​6,500 hectares (ha) using pure financing from the 2016 APBN and revised APBN covering an area of ​​5,000 ha, bringing the total to 11,500 ha. Specifically, land for the corn planting movement in Paser Regency was allocated an area of 1,000 ha and in Batu Engau District an area of 800 ha, the remaining 200 ha were spread across several sub-districts in Paser Regency.

H. Awang Faroek hopes that if the corn planting movement in East Kalimantan is carried out well, even though only 80 percent are producing, then East Kalimantan will be able to meet needs which can reach 156 percent.

At the event, the Governor of East Kalimantan also handed over corn seeds to farmers and 3 units of 4-wheeled tractors for special land processing for corn, 30 units of combine hanvesters, 13 units of corn threshers, 77 units of 2-wheeled tractors, 14 units of rice planting equipment and 13 units of water pumps.

Meanwhile at the previous friendly event with the Regent of Paser at the Hall of the Regent of Paser, Tanah Paser (7/11/2016) the Governor of East Kalimantan also handed over 50 housing units for Remote Indigenous Communities in Paser Regency, the delivery of planned social assistance for veterans, widows of veterans and for people with disabilities was witnessed by the Regent of Paser Yusriansyah together with officials from the East Kalimantan Provincial Government and the Government Paser Regency.
