Public Consultation on Preparation of Strategic Environmental Study (KLHS) Revision of East Kalimantan Regional Spatial Planning (RTRW) for 2022-2042
Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province through the Economic Sector as well as the Infrastructure and Regional Sector attended the Public Consultation on the Preparation of the Strategic Environmental Study (KLHS) Revision of the East Kalimantan Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) for 2022 - 2042 which was held by the East Kalimantan Province Environmental Service (DLH), Tuesday (05/07/2022).

The event which was held live and online at the Mercure Samarinda Hotel was attended by ± 50 participants who were present on site and consisted of elements from vertical agencies, Regional Apparatus within the Provincial Government. The purpose of the Public Consultation on the Preparation of the Strategic Environmental Study (KLHS) of the Revision of the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) for East Kalimantan Province for 2022 - 2042 is to carry out activities to prepare the KLHS Revision of the Provincial RTRW with the aim of recommending alternative improvements to policies, plans and programs related to spatial planning through public consultation.

Head of DLH Prov. East Kalimantan, Ir. E.A. Rafiddin Rizal, S.T., M.Si, IPM representing Acting. Provincial Secretary Kaltim opened and gave direct directions at the event.

"In accordance with the mandate of Law Number 32 of 2009 concerning Environmental Protection and Management, Regional Governments are obliged to prepare KLHS to ensure that the principles of sustainable development have become the basis and are integrated in the development of a region and/or policies, plans and/or programs which must then be implemented by the Regional Government in the preparation and evaluation of regional planning, one of which is the Regional Spatial Plan," he said.

It was further stated that through this Public Consultation it is hoped that it can provide input into the KLHS preparation process for the revision of the RTRW for East Kalimantan Province to realize the allocation and pattern of space use that can support the achievement of sustainable development goals.

This Public Consultation featured resource persons from KLHS Experts for Revision of RTRW for East Kalimantan Province who accompanied the KLHS Working Team for Revision of RTRW for East Kalimantan Province for 2022-2042 as well as the Head of the PUPR Service for East Kalimantan Province, represented by the Head of Spatial Planning for the PUPR Service for East Kalimantan Province, Mr Ahmad Muzakir.
