Public Consultation on Preparation of Strategic Environmental Study (KLHS) Revision of East Kalimantan Regional Spatial Planning (RTRW) for 2022-2042
Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province through the Economic Sector as well as the Infrastructure and Regional Sector attended the Public Consultation on the Preparation of the Strategic Environmental Study (KLHS) Revision of the East Kalimantan Regional Spatial Planning (RTRW) for 2022 - 2042 organized by the East Kalimantan Province Environmental Service (DLH), Tuesday (05/07/2022).

The event which was held live and online at the Mercure Samarinda Hotel was attended by ± 50 participants who were present on site and consisted of elements from vertical agencies, Regional Apparatus within the Provincial Government. The purpose of the Public Consultation on the Preparation of the Strategic Environmental Study (KLHS) Revision of the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) for East Kalimantan Province for 2022 - 2042 is the implementation of activities for the preparation of the KLHS Revision of the RTRW Province with the aim of recommending alternative improvements to policies, plans and programs related to spatial planning through public consultation.

Head of DLH Prov. East Kalimantan, Ir. E.A. Rafiddin Rizal, S.T., M.Si, IPM representing Acting. Provincial Secretary Kaltim opened and gave direct directions at the event.

“In accordance with the mandate of Law Number 32 of 2009 concerning Environmental Protection and Management, Regional Governments are obliged to prepare KLHS to ensure that the principles of sustainable development have become the basis and are integrated in the development of a region and/or policies, plans and/or programs which must then be implemented by the Regional Government in the preparation and evaluation of regional planning, one of which is the Regional Spatial Planning Plan," he said.

It is further stated that through this Public Consultation, it is hoped that it will be able to provide input into the KLHS preparation process for the revision of the RTRW for East Kalimantan Province to realize the allocation and pattern of space use that can support the achievement of sustainable development goals.< /p>

In this Public Consultation, resource persons were the East Kalimantan Province RTRW Revision KLHS Experts who accompanied the East Kalimantan Province RTRW Revision KLHS Working Group for 2022-2042 as well as the Head of the East Kalimantan Province PUPR Service who represented by the Head of the Spatial Planning Division of the East Kalimantan Province PUPR Service, Mr. Ahmad Muzakir.
