East Kutai Regency RKPD Ranwal Public Consultation 2023

Thursday, 03/17/2022. Head of Bappeda East Kalimantan Province, Mr. Prof. Dr. Ir. HM Aswin, MM was present virtually as a resource person in the Public Consultation Activity for Preparing the 2023 East Kutai Regency RKPD which was opened directly by the Regent of East Kutai Regency, Mr. Drs. H. Ardiansyah Sulaiman, M.Si.

Public consultation on the initial draft of the East Kutai Regency RKPD is an important stage that needs to be carried out by the East Kutai Regency Government in the context of preparing the East Kutai Regency RKPD for 2023, in accordance with the mandate of Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 86 of 2017.

In his presentation, Prof. Aswin conveyed several things related to the themes, priorities, targets and direction of regional development policy at the provincial level (in the 2023 RKPD Plan for East Kalimantan Province) which need to be used as references and important notes in preparing the RKPD for East Kutai Regency so that it is in line with policies at the provincial level.

He also said that the policy direction for East Kutai Regency in 2023 is to focus on alleviating poverty, reducing unemployment, reducing income inequality, providing basic infrastructure and maintaining the quality of the environment.

Then agriculture is indeed a priority in East Kutai Regency, but it needs to be analyzed again in more depth whether the agriculture is run by companies or groups of farmers/individuals in order to obtain more detailed data regarding potential development.

Then Prof. Aswin said that East Kutai Regency needs to prepare various things to welcome the transfer of IKN to East Kalimantan, especially in terms of human resource development, because IKN is an opportunity that must be utilized for the progress of all regions in East Kalimantan and East Kutai Regency is no exception. Prof. Aswin also did not forget to remind East Kutai Regency about the importance of the quality of archiving development documents carried out in East Kutai Regency.

For information, the theme of the 2023 East Kutai Regency RKPD is "Development of Economic Centers Supported by Quality Public Services". The development priorities prepared include improving infrastructure to support economic competitiveness; Increasing the competitiveness of human resources; Increasing sustainable management of natural resources; Strengthening regional information technology in regional government governance; Increasing economic competitiveness based on the agricultural sector; Preparedness, mitigation and adaptation for various disasters.

Meanwhile, problems in East Kutai Regency that are still being faced and must be resolved immediately include the unequal quality of education and health; lack of qualifications and quantity of available teaching and health personnel; high levels of open unemployment; the quality of basic infrastructure is still not optimal; connectivity between villages is still low; provision of food based on local resources; regional superior potential agribusiness commodities have not been optimized; appropriate technology-based HR skills have not been optimized; ASN competency is not optimal; as well as the lack of utilization of cultural and biological diversity as integrated tourism (ecotourism).
