Balikpapan City RKPD Ranwal Public Consultation in 2023

Head of Planning and Funding Subdivision Mr. Alfino Rinaldi Arief, ST, ME representing the Head of Bappeda for East Kalimantan Province was present virtually to accompany the implementation of the activity "Public Consultation on Preparation of RKPD for Balikpapan City in 2023".
Public consultation on the initial draft of the Balikpapan City RKPD is an important stage that needs to be carried out by the Balikpapan City Government in the context of preparing the Balikpapan City RKPD for 2023, in accordance with the mandate of Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 86 of 2017.
In preparing the Balikpapan City RKPD in 2023, the Balikpapan City Government needs to pay attention to several things related to themes, priorities, targets and direction of regional development policy at the provincial level (in the 2023 East Kalimantan Province RKPD Ranwal ), so that alignment of the RKPD of East Kalimantan Province and Balikpapan City can be realized. The policy direction for the City of Balikpapan in 2023 also needs to focus on alleviating poverty, reducing unemployment, reducing income inequality, and maintaining the quality of the environment. Apart from that, the City of Balikpapan also needs to prepare various things to welcome the transfer of IKN.
For your information, the theme of the 2023 Balikpapan City RKPD is "Improving the Quality of Human Resources and Equitable Access to Quality Basic Services to Support Economic Development". The development focus in the 2023 Balikpapan City RKPD Ranwal is directed at improving the implementation of good governance; Improving the quality of qualified and competitive human resources; Development of basic infrastructure and urban environmental quality; Strengthening the regional economy through increasing investment and empowering the community's economy.
Some of the problems still faced by the City of Balikpapan which can be summarized include the quality and quantity of human resources which is not yet optimal; the quality of education and health services is not yet optimal; there are still 88 flood locations; roads in damaged and seriously damaged condition around 7.84%; raw water deficit for fulfillment of 420 liters/sec; beach erosion; waste management that is not yet optimal; as well as digitalization and tourism which still need to be improved.
