Working Visit of the Climate Change and Environmental Development Team from the Canadian Embassy

Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province, represented by the Economic and Natural Resources Sector, attended the Working Visit meeting of the Climate Change and Environmental Development Team from the Canadian Embassy which took place at the Novotel Balikpapan Hotel on Sunday, (06 /02/2022).

Present at the meeting were the Acting Regional Secretary of East Kalimantan Province (H. Riza Indra Riadi), the representative of GGGI Indonesia (Marcel Silvius), the Daily Chair of the East Kalimantan DDPI (Daddy Ruchiyat), the Head of Staff Regions within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government as well as the Head of the Balikpapan City DLH (representing the Balikpapan City Government).

It is hoped that through this meeting, cooperation in realizing green development in East Kalimantan in the future can be better fostered, especially in the development, preservation and utilization of mangrove forests in East Kalimantan.

East Kalimantan Province currently has a mangrove vegetation area of ​​approximately 111 thousand hectares. Spread across the east coast of East Kalimantan from Paser, North Penajam Paser, Balikpapan, Kutai Kartanegara, Samarinda, Bontang, East Kutai and Berau.
