Monitoring and Evaluation of 2024 TPB/SDGs Achievements as Momentum for Achieving TPB/SDGs in East Kalimantan

The East Kalimantan Provincial Government through the East Kalimantan Bappeda held a Monitoring and Evaluation of East Kalimantan Province TPB/SDGs Achievements in 2024 at the Novotel Balikpapan Hotel, Thursday (5/12).
< br>This event, which was attended by offline and online participants from various agencies, from the central government to community organizations, aims to monitor and evaluate the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (TPB/SDGs) in East Kalimantan.

In the committee report submitted by the Head of the Economic and Natural Resources Division of the Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province, Wahyu Gatut Purboyo, explained that this activity would discuss the progress of SDGs implementation in East Kalimantan, the importance of monitoring and evaluation reporting SDGs, concrete steps to increase collaboration, and good practices for implementing TPB/SDGs. Furthermore, he explained that the output of this activity was the result of monitoring and evaluating the achievements of the TPB/SDGs which would be reported by the Governor of East Kalimantan to the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas and the Minister of Home Affairs.

Head of East Kalimantan Bappeda, Yusliando representing the Secretary The East Kalimantan Province Region, in its direction and opening the event, expressed its hope that this event could become an important momentum to strengthen joint commitment in supporting the achievement of the TPB/SDGs in East Kalimantan. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of inclusive, just and sustainable development. Apart from that, it is also hoped that all stakeholders can actively participate in filling in the TPB/SDGs monitoring and evaluation dashboard/application that has been developed by the East Kalimantan Provincial Government.

The discussion session moderated by Masayu Widiastuti (Secretary of the Center for IKN and SDGs Studies at Mulawarman University) presented a number of speakers to discuss various important aspects related to the implementation of the TPB/SDGs. Diky Avianto from the SDGs National Secretariat explained the progress of SDGs implementation in the regions and the urgency of SDGs Monitoring and Evaluation reporting. Dr. Yusniar Juliana SST, MIDEC, Head of the East Kalimantan Province Central Statistics Agency (BPS), explained the role of data in accelerating TPB/SDGs achievements in this province. Apart from that, the event also showcased best practices from companies in East Kalimantan in supporting the achievement of TPB/SDGs.

Muslim Gunawan from PT. Multi Harapan Utama and Anggono Wijaya from PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur shared their company's experience in implementing social and environmental responsibility programs. Dedy Cahyadi, M.Eng from Mulawarman University, provided input regarding the achievements of TPB/SDGs indicators at the provincial and district/city levels in 2024 through the SDGs Monev application (dashboard). It is hoped that this event can strengthen the commitment and collaboration of all parties in realizing sustainable development in East Kalimantan.
