Preparation of the Emission Reduction Program Cooperation Agreement in East Kalimantan Province

Balikpapan, (09/10/2020). Located at the Novotel Hotel, the cooperation agreement on the Emission Reduction Program in East Kalimantan Province which was concluded between the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia and the Province of East Kalimantan is at the stage of drafting the Draft Agreement.
This activity took place over two days, namely 8 – 9 October 2020, where the agenda on the first day was discussion of the Draft Cooperation Agreement Text, and on the second day Discussion and Finalization of the Cooperation Agreement Text.
The discussion of this cooperation agreement was attended by the Head of the Economic and Natural Resources Division of the Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province, Saur Parsaoran T, S.Pi, MEMD and the Head of the Natural Resources and Environment sub-sector Hj. Rina Juliaty, S.Si, M.Si and staff. Also present were the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, P3SEKPI, East Kalimantan Bappeda, Provincial Secretariat's Economic Bureau. East Kalimantan, Provincial Secretariat Public Relations and Protocol Bureau. East Kalimantan, Provincial Secretariat Legal Bureau. East Kalimantan, DDPI, GGGI.
The aim of this cooperation agreement is to build joint action in efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, prepare program implementation, improve policies and institutions, realize the implementation of social and environmental safeguard frameworks, fair distribution of benefits, as well as accountable and transparent measurement, monitoring and reporting, exchange, synchronization and verification of data supporting measurement and monitoring of reduction implementation emissions in East Kalimantan as agreed by the parties.
This cooperation agreement is implemented based on a Work Plan which contains general information about each program including activities, outputs, schedules, funding sources and the parties involved and responsible. The work plan is completed and signed by the parties no later than 3 months after the signing of this Cooperation agreement.
Submitted by Rina This cooperation agreement is valid for 5 years from the date it is signed by the parties involved and can be extended according to the agreement. It is planned that the signing will take place on October 13.
