Pre-2024 East Kalimantan Province Regional Poverty Alleviation Coordination Meeting
Samarinda, (10/12/2024) – In order to accelerate the reduction of extreme poverty in East Kalimantan, the East Kalimantan Provincial Bappeda held a Pre-2024 Regional Poverty Reduction Coordination Meeting at the Hotel Horison Samarinda .
Attended by around 100 participants consisting of the East Kalimantan Province Poverty Reduction Coordination Team (TKPK), Bappeda and Regency/City Social Services throughout East Kalimantan, as well as Poverty Experts. This meeting aims to agree on the perception of the time period for preparing the Regional Poverty Alleviation Plan Document (RPKD), the Annual Action Plan (RAT) between Provinces and Regencies/Cities throughout East Kalimantan and determining regional priorities in the area of poverty for Regency/City areas in the Regional Poverty Alleviation Plan (RPKD) 2025 – 2029.
Given the importance of accurate and targeted data, the implementation of poverty alleviation is based on name by address (BNBA), which can be used to map poverty programs that are right on target and sustainable.
For information, based on East Kalimantan BPS data, East Kalimantan Province is in the 7th lowest position with a percentage of 5.78 percent. The percentage and poverty rate in East Kalimantan is below the national average which was recorded at 9.03 percent and the lowest poverty rate was in Bali at 4.00 percent, while the highest was in Papua Mountains at 32.97 percent. The central government itself targets reducing extreme poverty to zero percent.
With the hope of reducing the rate of extreme poverty, this meeting hopes that agreement regarding priorities in preparing the Regional Poverty Reduction Plan (RPKD) for East Kalimantan Province for 2025-2029 can be achieved effectively. This decision will be the basis for implementing more effective poverty reduction policies and programs in the future.
With this activity, it is hoped that the synergy between stakeholders at the provincial and district/city levels will become more solid, so that efforts to eradicate extreme poverty in East Kalimantan can be more focused and achieve the planned targets .
