Initial Exploration Meeting for Potential Activities that Can Be Collaborated
Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province together with GIZ and the German Government held a meeting to discuss the initial plan for collaboration on Innovation Regions for just Energy Transition (IKI JET).

This meeting was chaired by the Head of the Economic Division, Mr. Wahyu Gatut, and attended by Regional Apparatus within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government including the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources, Social Service, Manpower Office, Disperindagkop, DLH, Tourism Office and Department Plantation

This meeting discussed the scope of JET cooperation and identified activities that could be collaborated between the provincial governments. East Kalimantan and the IKI JET consortium.

For your information, at the G20 conference in Bali, the Indonesian government together with member countries of the International Partners Group, including Germany, jointly launched the Just Energy Transition partnership. Indonesia is committed to achieving net-zero emissions in the electricity sector by 2050.

One of the agreements between Indonesia and Germany is the Innovation Regions for just Energy Transition (IKI JET). This collaboration aims to help the East Kalimantan coal region in particular prepare to anticipate the impacts of the coal transition through inclusive planning and regional economic transformation efforts.
