Coordination Meeting for Preparation and Stabilization of Incinerator Locations

Samarinda, 07 June 2021, 14.00 WITA. East Kalimantan Province Bappeda attended the coordination meeting for the preparation and consolidation of the incinerator location which was held in the Adipura DLH East Kalimantan Province meeting room and Zoom Meeting. This activity was attended by East Kalimantan Province DLH, East Kalimantan Province Bappeda, Samarinda City DLH, Class A Waste Management UPTD, PUPR Service, and DPRD Secretariat. This event was organized by the East Kalimantan Province Environmental Service (DLH).

The East Kalimantan Provincial Environmental Service emphasizes that in planning and determining the location for the incinerator construction, it is necessary to pay attention to the readiness of the supporting files and documents. Meanwhile, the Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province, represented by the Head of the Natural Resources and Environment Subdivision, Agus Taswanto, ST, emphasized that if there is not enough time to implement it, it can be implemented in the 2022 Fiscal Year. Meanwhile, regarding funding for implementation, it will then be reviewed and coordinated again.

Meanwhile, after conducting an inspection in the field, it is likely that the planned location will allow an incinerator to be built. The planned location is located far from residential areas and in the Revised RTRW Infrastructure is a waste water management area in the 2020 SKP Draft Regional Regulation. Regarding the incinerator road access which still uses hauling roads, it would be best to build a new road to reduce the emergence of problems with mining companies around the location.

The conclusions of this meeting include that in its implementation more intensive steps are needed in completing the files/documents submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry; Ensure that the Samarinda City Government can also build an access road to the Incinerator; Pay attention to the impact of the Incinerator.
