Marangkayu Regional SPAM Coordination Meeting
Thursday 12/05/2022, Infrastructure and Regional Sector of Provincial Bappeda. East Kalimantan attended the Marangkayu Regional SPAM Coordination Meeting via Zoom Meeting. The meeting was attended by the Provincial Technical Team, Bontang City Technical Team and Kutai Kartanegara Regency Technical Team totaling 42 participants.

The meeting was held in the framework of the process of preparing the Marangkayu Regional SPAM (Kutai Kartanegara-Bontang) Feasibility Study (FS) Document by the East Kalimantan Project Preparation Consultant (PPC) through the Accelerating Infrastructure Delivery through Program Better Engineering Services Project (ESP) – Asian Development Bank (ADB).

It is predicted that in 2044, the population of Kec. Marang Kayu will increase to 37,429 people (source: BPS data), therefore, the average water demand in Kec. Marangkayu is also predicted to increase, with a deficit rate of -3.5L/sec/year so it is predicted that it will experience a deficit in drinking water and raw water. It is hoped that the Marangkayu Regional SPAM can reduce the deficit by adding 75 Lpd. Apart from District. Marangkayu, Kukar-Bontang Refional SPAM is also planned.
