Follow-up Meeting on Proposed Changes to the Designation and Function of Forest Areas in the Context of Reviewing Regional Spatial Planning
The Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province through the Infrastructure and Regional Sector attended the Follow-up Meeting on the Proposal to Change the Allocation and Function of Forest Areas in the Context of Revision of the Provincial RTRW which was held in the Ulin Meeting Room of the East Kalimantan Provincial Forestry Service, Monday (20/06/2022).

The meeting was opened by Plt. Head of the East Kalimantan Province Forestry Service, Mr. H. Joko Istanto, SP., M.Si. The meeting was attended by 30 meeting participants consisting of elements from the East Kalimantan ATR/BPN Regional Office, BPKH Region IV Samarinda, as well as Regional Apparatus within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government such as the Economic Bureau, Bappeda, PUPR & Pera Service, Forestry Service, and Manpower and Transmigration Office.

This meeting was held to agree on a follow-up plan and collect the required data for the request for exposure of proposed changes to forest areas and functions by the Governor of East Kalimantan to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

Based on the results of the discussion, the relevant parties were asked to support the completeness of the data for the proposal request.

The data required is:
a.) Proposed Kws Map. Forest scale 1:250,000 with updated/additional proposals from the province which have been signed by the Governor of East Kalimantan which are also adjusted to Minister of Environment Decree No. 668 of 2021.
b.) Results of Technical Studies in the Context of Forest Area Change.
c.) KLHS.
d.) Satellite Imagery Coverage no later than the last 2 years.
e.) Maps and documents such as forest utilization, use of forest areas and release of forest areas.
f.) Results of research that has been carried out regarding changes in forest areas.
g.) Other supporting data according to Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 7 of 2021 article 348 (Kaltim Province in numbers, OPD Strategic Plan for Natural Resources Economic Sector, district/city proposal documents, land cover data)

The results of the discussion in this activity will be followed up by the relevant parties, which will then be scheduled for a follow-up meeting on June 28 2022 to collect data and prepare an exposé on proposed changes to forest areas and forest functions .
