Greetings and Resource Persons for the Green Development Conference in East Kalimantan
The Regional Council for Climate Change (DDPI) of East Kalimantan Province together with the East Kalimantan Provincial Government with the support of the Nusantara Nature Conservation Foundation held a discussion event with the parties who have been involved in the Green Development process in Kalimantan East, Tuesday (12/07/2022).

Green Development Conference held at the Mercure Samarinda Hotel and opened by Plt. Assistant for Economics and Development Administration of the Regional Secretariat of East Kalimantan Province, Prof. Dr. Ir. H.M. Aswin, MM representing the Regional Secretary of East Kalimantan Province, this was carried out in the context of reviewing and making adjustments to green development strategies and policies in order to be able to answer various challenges of the dynamics of green development in East Kalimantan.

Plt. The Assistant for Economics and Development Administration of the Regional Secretariat of East Kalimantan Province, who was also present as a resource person at the green development meeting, delivered a presentation regarding Green Development in East Kalimantan.

“Green Development Activities in Districts/Cities are currently included in the Regional Apparatus Strategic Plan, where in total there are 97 Programs and 187 Activities in 8 Districts/Cities, including Berau, East Kutai , Kukar, Kubar, Mahulu, PPU, Paser, and Balikpapan," he explained.

It was further stated that building institutions that focus on managing the Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Program in East Kalimantan requires strong commitment and support from all related parties, both the Government (Provincial and Regency/ City), Private/Private Sector, as well as Universities and Development Partners.

The green development discussion also presented 2 other speakers, namely Prof. Daddy Ruhiyat (as Daily Chair of DDPI Kaltim) and Prof. Dr. Rudianto Amita (Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Mulawarman University).

With the active involvement of development actors in discussing the dynamics of Green Development in East Kalimantan, it is hoped that it can increase understanding and participation of all parties in implementing and integrating green development strategies and programs into regional development plan document.
