Mulawarman University 60th Anniversary Open Senate and Scientific Oration by the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia
Head of Bappeda for East Kalimantan Province and Plt. Assistant II, Prof. Dr. Ir. H.M. Aswin, MM attended the Open Senate Meeting and Scientific Oration by the Indonesian Minister of Environment and Forestry, Prof. Dr. Ir. Siti Nurbaya Bakar, M.Sc, in the context of the 60th Anniversary of Mulawarman University (Unmul), Tuesday (27/09/2022).

The event began with remarks from the Chancellor of Unmul, Prof. Dr. H. Masjaya, M. Si who conveyed about the Achievements of Unmul 60 Years, then continued with remarks from the Governor of East Kalimantan, Mr. Dr. Ir. H. Isran Noor, M.Si., and Scientific Oration by the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia.

In this scientific oration, the Minister of Environment and Forestry said that environmental and forestry development not only has an important role in warding off various threats of disasters and calamities, but is also able to support the achievement of sustainable national development .

It was further stated that East Kalimantan Province, with its extensive forest modalities and high social modalities, is of course expected to become a major regional advantage. Therefore, all parties are expected to be able to create sustainable forests in East Kalimantan that have high economic value and are socially beneficial for the people of East Kalimantan and for the Indonesian nation. And also, the arrangement of IKN in this initial stage, within the SEA framework, really requires academic guidance and the role of academics, including from the campus that is the foundation of the nation's hopes, Mulawarman University.
