Gathering and Halal Bihalal of Kutai Residents with the Kutai Sultanate 2016

Tenggarong, Saturday 6/8/2016. Head of Bappeda East Kalimantan Province, DR.Ir.H. Zairin Zain, M.Si as wrong one Kutai community figure together with several East Kalimantan Bappeda staff attended the Kutai Big Family Gathering and Halal Bihalal event with the Sultan of Kutai Ing Martadipura XX, Governor of East Kalimantan, Forkopimda, Religious Leaders and Community Figures with the theme "With Gathering, Etam Increases the Participation of Urang Kutai in Developing East Kalimantan. Urang Kutai Must Be Masters in Their Country Alone". This event was held at the Kutai Kartanegara Palace, Tenggarong.

The Kutai Kartanegara Palace Halal Bihalal event with the people of Kutai Kartanegara in particular and the people of East Kalimantan in general was attended by the Governor of East Kalimantan, DR.H. Awang Faroek Ishak who is also one of the Kutai Kartanegara community figures. H. Awang Faroek Ishak delivered his speech as the Governor of East Kalimantan as well as a figure in the Kutai Kartanegara community.

In his speech the Governor of East Kalimantan said that the Halal Bihalal event of the Kutai Kartanegara Palace with the people of Kutai Kartanegara in particular and the people of East Kalimantan in general was very important in order to strengthen ties between communities and also between the community and the government and with the Kutai Kartanegara Palace and the Governor's message to always hold events like this within a certain time span so that a high sense of camaraderie remains.

Apart from the speech from the Governor of East Kalimantan, this event also featured lecturer DR. KH. Mashudi Syuhud, MA Chairman of the Central PBNU with the theme "Gathering between the people of Kutai Kartanegara in particular and Indonesian society in general". KH. Mashudi Syuhud believes that the Halal Bihalal event only exists in Indonesia, there is no culture like this in other parts of the world except in Indonesia. Halal Bihalal Kutai Kartanegara residents in particular and East Kalimantan residents in general together with the Kutai Kartanegara Palace were held in collaboration with all parties, especially the East Kalimantan Kutai Cultural and Traditional Institute and in this event conveyed the attitude "We Urang Kutai".

The statement of attitude was read by Kutai Community Leaders, namely: On this day, Saturday, August 6 2016, "We Urang Kutai" supported by the Elders and Urang Figures of Kutai, located at the Kedaton Ke-Sultanan Kutai Kartanegara Ing Martadipura, Bedua Etam Tenggarong, East Kalimantan Province, stated their position:
1. "We Urang Kutai" are ready, play an active role as "Masters in Our Own Country", and synergize harmoniously with a pluralistic society, "Build East Kalimantan for All of Us";
2. "We Urang Kutai" is ready, to be an inseparable and integral part of the Inter-Ethnic and Religious Communication/Coordination Forum, to maintain a safe, peaceful and conducive regional atmosphere;
3. "We Urang Kutai" encourages migrant communities to work together to support government programs in alleviating poverty, creating job opportunities and preserving natural resources based on local culture and wisdom;
4. "We Urang Kutai" ask the Government to include the Kutai language in the mandatory curriculum in Elementary Schools, Junior High Schools and Senior High Schools;
5. "We Urang Kutai" ask the Central Government to make Adji Muhammad Idris Sultan Kutai Kartanegara Ing Martadipura “We Urang Kutai” only recognizes that “Kutai Kartanegara Ing Martadipura Sultanate” is the only Sultanate in the Land of Kutai;
7. "We Urang Kutai" agree that every year in the month of Shawwal a Grand Gathering will be held as a concrete manifestation of establishing closeness between Urang Kutai and the Community in harmony in an atmosphere of peace.
