MP3EI Corridor 3 Kalimantan Coordination Meeting

Pontianak, 11/6/13. Plt. Regional Secretary of East Kalimantan Province and Head of BAPPEDA East Kalimantan, DR.Ir.H. Rusmadi.MS attended the meeting MP3EI_Kaltim_pontianak_11_Juni_13-newsCoordination MP3EI (Master Plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development) Kalimantan Corridor in the meeting room of the Kapuas Palace Hotel, Pontianak, West Kalimantan, attended by approximately 250 participants from 4 provinces, namely East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan and West Kalimantan and representatives of ministries/institutions. related to the implementation of the MP3EI project in corridor 3 Kalimantan.

The implementation of the MP3EI Corridor 3 Kalimantan Coordination Meeting was chaired directly by the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, H. Hatta Rajasa and attended by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, Suswono; Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, Zulkifli Hasan; Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, Major General TNI (Ret.) Evert Ernest Mangindaan and Deputy Minister of National Planning/BAPPENAS DR.Ir. Lukita Dinarsyah Tuwo, MA.

The Minister of Agriculture as the coordinator of Corridor 3 Kalimantan reported an overview of the MP3EI Corridor 3 followed by implementation progress and strategic issues for the implementation of the MP3EI Corridor 3 Kalimantan.

The strategic issues presented include limited energy, limited infrastructure, the incomplete completion of the RTRWP for East Kalimantan, West Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan as well as efforts to accelerate the establishment of the Maloy Special Economic Zone.

Plt. Regional Secretary of East Kalimantan Province, DR.Ir.H. Rusmadi.MS, on the opportunity to explore the problem in more depth, said that "the obstacles faced in accelerating the acceleration of development in East Kalimantan are due to the fact that forest area changes have not been determined and limited infrastructure.

Apart from that, plans for the ground breaking of MP3EI East Kalimantan projects were also presented, including the Railway, ITK, ISBI, Balang Island Bridge, Maratua Airport, Loa Kulu Bridge and Aji Tulur Jenjangkat Bridge.

DR. Ir. Rusmadi.MS also conveyed plans for the inauguration of the East Kalimantan MP3EI project, namely Sepinggan Airport, Long Bawan Airport, a power plant made from palm waste and the Maloy SEZ.

In this regard, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy requested that the provincial government carry out intensive coordination and preparation so that the ground breaking and inauguration can be carried out before the fasting month of 2013.
