Interactive Dialogue on Nusantara Aspirations (RRI Samarinda)
Friday, 06/17/2022. Head of Bappeda for East Kalimantan Province and (Plt. 2nd Assistant to the Regional Secretary of East Kalimantan Province), Mr. Prof. Dr. Ir. H.M. Aswin, MM was a resource person in the Interactive Dialogue on Nusantara Aspirations organized by RRI Samarinda which was broadcast via RRI Pro 1 Samarinda radio broadcast, zoom meeting and RRI's YouTube channel. The topic raised in this dialogue was "The Impact of IKN on Regional Infrastructure Development in East Kalimantan".
-
Prof. Aswin said that he saw it as impossible for the Central Government to want areas in IKN to be sparkling but other areas in East Kalimantan were completely dark. The Central Government will certainly be embarrassed if this situation occurs. We can see that the Java region is well developed because it is close to the National Capital. Prof. Aswin then added that he believed that with the IKN development in East Kalimantan, proposing funds, especially for handling and building roads in East Kalimantan, would be very easy. Infrastructure development is not limited to roads alone, but other infrastructure such as telecommunications, ports and others will also be built. He also added that in his presentation regarding the issue of concern regarding the transfer of IKN to East Kalimantan, if seen in the context of infrastructure there is certainly no need to worry. He really hopes that the transfer and development of IKN in East Kalimantan can be realized soon so that it becomes proof that the Central Government is serious about this IKN.

Meanwhile, another resource person who was present on this occasion, Mr. Ir. Junaidi as Head of the National Road Implementation Center for the East Kalimantan Region said that the length of the national road in East Kalimantan being handled is around 1,710 Km (the worst condition is in the West Kutai area) and of course requires a large budget to carry out its handling and construction. Before the decision to move IKN, the allocation of funds for road construction and maintenance in East Kalimantan was felt to be very minimal. However, after the IKN was established in East Kalimantan, changes were felt, namely that now a budget has been allocated for 14 multiyear contract packages. This shows that IKN is a gift for East Kalimantan, especially in road construction.
-
Continuing this dialogue session, Mr. Dana Adikusuma, ST, M.Sc as Secretary of the Nusantara Socio Engineering Forum expressed the need to emphasize that "IKN was not built in Kalimantan, but IKN was built Kalimantan”. We also help to prepare skilled human resources in the construction sector at the village level to welcome IKN. IKN is also felt to be a blessing, especially for East Kalimantan. And we must also realize that development does require a large budget, but this is of course aimed at social justice that will be felt by the entire community (now and in the future).
-
In line with the statements of several other speakers, Mr. Aji Muhammad Fitra Firnanda, ST, MM as Head of the East Kalimantan Province PUPR Service also said that road problems in East Kalimantan are very much influenced by the availability of the budget. not enough. With the existence of IKN, we must be sure that the Central Government will focus on helping improve the quality of road infrastructure in East Kalimantan.
-
In harmony with all the speakers present, Mr. Dr. Irwan, S.IP, MP as a member of Commission V DPR RI said that the existence of IKN in East Kalimantan can be described in terms of "when policy approaches, justice will approach". Mr. Irwan noted that what we have to do together is to continue to remind the Central Government that the IKN development funds must remain simultaneous and not disturb East Kalimantan's infrastructure budget.
