The Director of Forestry and Water Resources Conservation at Bappenas, the Team from USAID, and the Head of Bappeda met with the Governor of East Kalimantan to introduce the USAID SEGAR Project in East Kalimantan and at the same time asked for direction from the Governor of East Kalimantan

Wednesday, 12/01/2022 Head of Bappeda East Kalimantan Province together with the Director of Forestry and Water Resources Conservation Bappenas and representatives from USAID met with the Governor of East Kalimantan to convey the progress of USAID SEGAR project activities in East Kalimantan.

In the context of collaboration between the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and USAID in carrying out the Sustainable Environmental Governance Across Regions (SEGAR) Project for the 2021-2025 period in East Kalimantan Province, a SEGAR Project Team Audience was held from the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and USAID with the East Kalimantan Provincial Government through the relevant OPD.

As Bappeda's study which was previously conveyed to the Governor, this SEGAR program will certainly be very positive for East Kalimantan in order to support East Kalimantan's sustainable development.

SEGAR project activities are expected to have a basic work plan and division of tasks based on the MoU or Governor's Instruction as the representative of the central government in the regions. With this basis, it will clarify the role of OPD within the East Kalimantan Province in supporting the SEGAR Project which is a collaboration between the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and USAID for the 2021-2025 period.

Locations for USAID SEGAR activities are carried out in 12 districts in 4 provinces, while for East Kalimantan Province it is located in Berau, East Kutai and Mahakam Ulu districts.
