FGD and Socialization of the Love Statistics Village Program in East Kalimantan for the Scope of Development Partners
Tuesday, (17/01/2023). Young Expert Planner, Data and Information Analysis Sub-Coordinator, Provincial Bappeda. East Kalimantan, Mr. M. Hamsani ST, M.Si was present at the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Socialization of the Love Statistics Village Program in East Kalimantan Province to Support Strengthening Village Governance in the context of Protecting Forested Areas outside forest areas in East Kalimantan.

At the event held at the Mercure Samarinda Hotel, Mr. M. Hamsani said that the use of forest areas outside the forest area in East Kalimantan is certainly very necessary for the people of a region, because good use will have a positive impact, especially from a financial perspective which has an impact on the welfare of the community. The East Kalimantan Provincial Government also very much welcomes activities aimed at increasing empowerment at the village level, such as the Village Love Statistics program.

Meanwhile, representative from BPS East Kalimantan, Mr. Maibu Barwis Sugiharto, said that there are 262 villages/sub-districts located on the edge of the forest and 57 villages/sub-districts located inside the forest in East Kalimantan. Village/sub-district areas located in forest areas have a high potential for poverty, so more optimal efforts and attention are needed, especially in empowering these villages so that poverty alleviation in East Kalimantan can also be successful.
