FGD of the National Capital of the Archipelago
Head of Bappeda East Kalimantan Province, Prof. Dr. Ir. HM Aswin, MM attended and provided input in the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) activity regarding the National Capital of the Archipelago which was held in the Fisip Unmul Multipurpose Room, Friday (18/03/2022).
"From a planning perspective, in accordance with the existing spatial plan and KLHS which has taken into account the values of local culture, that is actually very good. However, there are things in the Law on National Capital of the Archipelago that need to be revised to provide legal certainty and consistency in its future implementation even though the President changes," said the Head of Bappeda for East Kalimantan Province in front of the researchers and relevant stakeholders present.
It was further stated that support also poured in from tribes around the IKN area regarding the move of the National Capital to East Kalimantan Province. Therefore, the Deputy Governor of East Kalimantan and related stakeholders are scheduled to have a dialogue with residents from tribes around the IKN Nusantara area to establish synergy on March 22 2022.
For your information, the FGD is part of a joint research activity regarding the analysis of Indonesia's new capital in East Kalimantan which was held in collaboration between Indonesian Hindu University, Gadjah Mada University, Airlangga University, Mulawarman University, IAIN Kediri and BRIN.
This research focuses on studying economic, social and cultural aspects in analyzing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges in the National Capital development plan. It is hoped that this study will be able to contribute ideas to stakeholders to be able to develop the new capital as a new economic center that is able to support the wheels of the economy and balance the economic inequalities that occur throughout Indonesia.
