Public Consultation Forum in the Process of Preparing the Preliminary Draft RKPD for East Kalimantan Province for 2023
Wednesday, 01/26/2022. The East Kalimantan Provincial Government through the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda held a Public Consultation Forum in the Process of Preparing the 2023 East Kalimantan Province RKPD Initial Draft which was held at the Novotel Balikpapan hotel and online via zoom meeting. There were around 150 participants who attended this event and 200 participants who attended via zoom meeting consisted of elements of provincial regional apparatus, legislative elements, vertical agencies, TGUP3, academics, BUMD, professional associations, development partners, the business world and community leaders.

The theme of the 2023 East Kalimantan Province RKPD is "Strengthening Economic, Social and Environmental Resilience Towards Community Prosperity Within the Framework of Sovereign East Kalimantan". Meanwhile, East Kalimantan's development priorities are directed at developing a competitive and competitive workforce; Strengthening the people's economy and community entrepreneurship; Increasing the productivity of processing industrial areas in a sustainable manner; Strengthening exports of superior commodities with high added value; Equal distribution and consolidation of connectivity and infrastructure accessibility between regions and IKN supporting areas; and Development of bureaucratic independence for public policies that support regional sovereignty.

On this occasion, the Regional Secretary of East Kalimantan Province (Mr. HM Sa'bani) who represented the Governor of East Kalimantan opened and gave a speech. He said that this public consultation is an important agenda in the development planning stage of East Kalimantan which functions to gather aspirations, input and suggestions from all stakeholders. It was also conveyed that East Kalimantan is still faced with a number of challenges, opportunities and problems including regarding the ratification of the National Capital Law, Covid-19, international trade wars, green economic policies, coal export policies from the Central Government and infrastructure conditions that are still not optimal.

Several speakers presented at the discussion session on this occasion included the Head of BAPPEDA for East Kalimantan Province, Prof. Dr. Ir. HM Aswin, MM; Plt. Director General of Regional Development at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr. Sugeng Hariyanto; and Regional Director II of the Ministry of National Development Planning/BAPPENAS, Mohammad Roudo, Ph.D. In his presentation, Prof. Aswin said that East Kalimantan's problems could be mapped to several things, including the still high level of poverty; high levels of open unemployment; high Gini index number; as well as the potential for reducing environmental quality. Seeing these conditions, the priorities and direction of development policy for East Kalimantan (Province and Regency/City) in 2023 need to be directed at efforts to resolve the problems still being faced. Apart from that, it was also stated that there are 6 goals and 19 development targets with various indicator targets that need to be achieved in 2023.
The implementation of this public consultation forum closed with the signing of the minutes signed by all stakeholders present.
