East Kalimantan Bappeda Islamic Religious Study in the Month of Ramadhan: Taqwa, Charity, Qana'ah, and Preparation for the Hereafter Are the Main Focus
The East Kalimantan Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda Kaltim) held a study of Islam in the month of Ramadhan on Thursday, March 6 2025. This study presented Ustadz Aslam Abu Hanifah, S.H.I., M.Pd., C. MIS from Pusda'i Kaltim & Founder of Aslam Edu & Co, as speaker. This event was attended by various elements of East Kalimantan Bappeda employees, from ASN, Non ASN, to cleaning staff.
Ustadz Aslam Abu Hanifah delivered a lecture that focused on the four main pillars of Islam, namely piety, charity according to the Koran and Sunnah, qana'ah, and preparing oneself for the last day. Taqwa is explained as the fear of Allah which drives us to draw closer to Him. Qana'ah is emphasized as an attitude of accepting with pleasure what has been given by Allah, as in the hadith narrated by Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah which explains that whoever among you feels safe in his home (for himself, his family and his community), is provided with physical health, and has the basic food for that day in his house, it is as if the world has gathered around him.
Apart from that, Ustadz Aslam also reminded us of the importance of preparing ourselves for life after death. He quoted Ali Bin Abi Talib's words about the characteristics of a pious person and a hadith from Ibn Umar regarding the most intelligent believers being those who remember death the most and prepare themselves for the next world. It is hoped that this study can increase the understanding and practice of Islamic teachings among East Kalimantan Bappeda employees.
The activity continued with questions and answers and recitation of the Al-Quran for Bappeda employees East Kalimantan.
