Activities of the Governor of East Kalimantan's working visit to West Kutai Regency
West Kutai, 11 June 2021. The Governor of East Kalimantan and his entourage consisting of Regional Apparatus from East Kalimantan Province along with related stakeholders and the National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) carried out a working visit from the Governor of East Kalimantan to West Kutai Regency.
Starting the agenda, a friendly event was held for the Governor and Deputy Governor and their entourage with the Regent of West Kutai. During the event, the Governor conveyed his response regarding the condition of infrastructure (roads) in West Kutai. Nearly 30% of the roads in West Kutai are in a damaged condition. This road has National Road status. Therefore, the Governor hopes that the damaged roads can be immediately repaired by the Central Government (in this case BBPJN) who were also present at this working visit.
Furthermore, the Governor and Deputy Governor of East Kalimantan and their entourage visited a number of locations in West Kutai Regency. The first location visited was a rubber plantation which is a people's plantation located in Juaq Asa Village, Barong Tongkok District, West Kutai. At this location, an audience and dialogue was held between the Governor of East Kalimantan, the Regent of West Kutai, and the Head of the East Kalimantan Provincial Plantation Service with the Village Head Juaq Asa and local rubber plantation farmers. Furthermore, the Governor provided seed assistance from the Provincial Government to farmers and inspected the location of rubber plantations.
The second location visited on the working visit in West Kutai Regency was the Chili Plantation, Sumber Bangun Village, Sekolaq Darat District, West Kutai. At this location, an audience and dialogue was also held between the Governor, the Head of Sumber Bangun Village and local farmers. Next, the Governor provided agricultural tools to farmers and visited the location of the chili plantations to harvest the garden products.
The next location which concludes the series of activities for the Governor of East Kalimantan's working visit to West Kutai Regency is the PT Underpass location. Firman Ketaun Perkasa, Damai District, Muara Lawa Village. At this location, a site inspection and inauguration of the PT Underpass was carried out. Firman Ketaun Perkasa, signing the inauguration inscription, as well as signing the Minutes of Handover of Underpass Assets from PT. Firman Ketaun Perkasa to the East Kalimantan Provincial Government. Furthermore, this underpass will be officially handed over to the Ministry of Public Works (in this case BBPJN), so that wider use can be carried out by the community along with road maintenance when it has status as a National Road.
