2018 Public Consultation Preliminary Draft RKPD East Kalimantan

Samarinda, 02/28/2018. The Head of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda, represented by the Head of Regional Infrastructure, Yusliando, ST, delivered a presentation at the Public Consultation event in the framework of Preparing the 2019 East Kalimantan Province RKPD Preliminary Draft in the meeting room of the Midtown Samarinda Hotel.

In this presentation, it was stated that the achievements of East Kalimantan's macro development indicators up to 2017, namely GRDP ADHB increased from 2016, Economic growth increased from 2016, Unemployment Rate was lower than 2016, Poverty Rate increased from 2016, Inflation Rate was lower than 2016, Investment increased from 2016, Environmental Quality Index was higher lower than 2016, and HDI achievements that cannot yet be determined. This increased economic growth was mainly due to an increase in the mining and quarrying sector which of course also had an impact on the environmental quality of East Kalimantan Province.

The implementation of the 2018 Public Consultation with the theme "Strengthening Investment Competitiveness to Accelerate Industrial Downstreaming" is an annual agenda carried out in the process of preparing annual regional development planning documents and is a continuation of the Kalimantan Bappeda Technical Meeting last February in Bontang City. This forum aims to obtain input and suggestions from every stakeholder element to improve the initial draft of the 2019 Regional Work Plan (RKPD). This was stated by the Secretary of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda Drs. H. Sufian Agus, M.Sc.

"The 2019 RKPD is a transitional RKPD and is the implementation of the first year of the 2018-2023 Medium Term Development Plan which has not yet been prepared and determined. The 2019 RKPD is very strategic because it must be able to interpret and describe strategic issues, problems and development policy directions that can be in line with the RPJMD which has not yet been determined," said Assistant I for General Administration Drs. H. Bere Ali, M.Si when opening the Public Consultation event representing Plt. Regional Secretary of East Kalimantan Province.

The event was attended by participants from echelon II, III, IV officials as well as staff from the East Kalimantan Province Regional Apparatus and Regency/City Bappeda throughout East Kalimantan, Academics, Banking, Professional Associations, NGOs, Mass Organizations, and Community Figures. (fjr)
