Visit of APBN Analyst by the Secretary General of the DPR RI Regarding Data Collection on Illegal Mining in Indonesia
Samarinda, (08/02/2023). Provincial Bappeda. East Kalimantan, represented by the Head of Economics, Mr. Wahyu Gatut, received a visit from the APBN Analyst of the Secretariat General of the DPR RI at the Propeda meeting room.
-
There were five APBN analysts from the Secretary General of the DPR RI who visited, consisting of Mrs. Ratna Christianingrum, S.Si., M.Si, Mrs. Marihot Nasution, SE., M.Si, Mr. Orlando Raka Bestianta, SE, Mrs. Andriani Elizabeth, S.A.P, M.B.A, and Mr. Deandra Chasmir, S.Ak.
-
As stated by Mrs. Ratna Christianingrum, the purpose of this visit was to examine the role/contribution of mining in general in the economy of a region and how regional attitudes and policies deal with the rise of illegal mining.
-
Mrs Ratna explained that East Kalimantan Province was chosen as one of the respondents considering that East Kalimantan is one of the provinces with the highest contribution to the mining and quarrying sector among other provinces in Indonesia. Until the third quarter of 2022, the mining and quarrying sector in East Kalimantan Province contributed around 47% of the total GRDP of East Kalimantan Province.
-
“Of course this figure is a good thing, but on the other hand, data from JATAM states that currently there are around 200 illegal mining spots spread across various districts/cities in East Kalimantan. "So from here we want to see how big the impact of illegal mining is, both in terms of environmental damage, regional income, profit sharing funds, but more from an economic perspective," he said.
-
The results of this data collection will be compiled into a book on the theme of Illegal Mining in Indonesia. We hope that this book will be handed over to members of the DPR RI, both Commission III, Commission IV, Commission VII, Commission VIII, as supporting material regarding their duties and authority in making policies.

Also present at this meeting was the Head of Provincial DPMPTSP. East Kalimantan, Environmental Service, Provincial Bapenda. East Kalimantan, and the Provincial PUPR Service. East Kalimantan.
