Integrated Coastal Areas Management Workshop in the Capital City of Nusantara

Secretary of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda, Ms. Charmarijaty, ST, M.Sc accompanied by the young expert planner of the Agriculture and Fisheries Industry Sub -Coordinator, Mrs. Agustina Rahmawati, S.Pi attended the "Integrated Coastal Area Management Workshop in the Capital City of Nusantara". This event was held by the Deputy for the Environment and Natural Resources of the Authority of the Capital City of the Archipelago at the Platinum & Convention Hall Hotel Balikpapan with participants who attended including from the Deputy for the Environment and Natural Resources of the Authority of the Capital City of the Archipelago; The Capital City Transition Team of the Archipelago; Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia; Ministry of PPN/Bappenas RI; Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia; Peat Restoration and Mangrove RI; Indonesian National Research and Innovation Agency; The Provincial Government of East Kalimantan, the Kutai Kartanegara Regency Government, and the City Government of Balikpapan; and representatives of the University of Mulawarman, Hasanuddin, and IPB.

This event was held in order to collect data, information and views to produce the formulation of the concept of integrated coastal area management that support environmental governance and resources in the coastal area of ​​the Capital City of the Archipelago. This is because the effort to develop IKN in mainland areas will have an impact on coastal, sea and river waters. Integrated coastal management (ICM) management is needed for IKN and is important to be associated with the development of blue economy and the development of new and renewable energy and renewable energy.

Secretary of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda who represented the Head of Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province was asked to convey several matters relating to the strategy and policy of management of coastal areas in Balikpapan Bay and the Delta Mahakam area by the Provincial Government. East Kalimantan Recommendation for Oikn in the effort to manage the integrated coastal areas in Delta Mahakam and Balikpapan Bay to support the development of IKN.

Important points conveyed by the Secretary of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda in this event include that in the management of coastal areas in IKN it is necessary to pay attention to the spatial planning of East Kalimantan to be in harmony; Paying attention to aspects of preservation of protected animal habitat in the Balikpapan Bay region such as orangutans, sun bears, proboscisers and pesuts; The condition of mangrove damage that occurs is caused by ponds and social problems and is an oil and gas source block. Besides that, the need to be a concern in terms of sedimentation control in the coastal areas in the future, especially when construction of IKN. The management of the coastal area in IKN must be carried out in an integrated manner, therefore the Provincial Government of East Kalimantan is very open to collaborate with all parties, especially Oikn so that the management can be more optimal.
