Resource Person for Development Policy Direction in the Cooperative and MSME Sector of East Kalimantan Province
Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province, represented by the Head of Economics and Natural Resources, Mrs. Hidayanti Darma, was a resource person at the Coordination of Central and Regional Planning activities at the Provincial Level with the theme of explaining the Direction of Development Policy in the Cooperative and MSME Sector of East Kalimantan Province. .

In her presentation, Mrs Hidayanti stated that in the last five years the cooperative sector has not experienced significant development, in fact the number of active cooperatives has not shown an increase. In 2018 the number of active cooperatives was 3428 and in 2022 the number of active cooperatives will be 2884.

He explained that the target in the 2019-2023 PRPJMD is to increase cooperative and SME economic businesses with a strategy of revitalizing the development and management of cooperatives and SMEs. Meanwhile, the policy direction is focused on increasing the institutional capacity of cooperatives and SMEs; Development of digital-based cooperative and SME market platforms; improving product quality; as well as facilitating capital for cooperatives and SMEs.

During its development, there are several problems faced by MSMEs, including availability of capital, lack of market access, minimal digitalization of MSMEs and the decline in people's purchasing power
The MSME development carried out is licensing assistance; online marketing assistance and IT utilization; product processing assistance; access to production raw materials; assistance with MSME financial administration bookkeeping; assistance with access to capital; legal assistance for MSMEs; expansion of cooperation and marketing networks between MSMEs; Training and technical guidance to MSMEs; and Improved product packaging.
