Discussion of the Draft Gubernatorial Regulation on the Acceleration of Malaria Elimination
Bappeda Prov. East Kalimantan was represented by staff from the Government and Human Development Subdivision. People's Welfare attended the Coordination Meeting for Discussion of the Draft Gubernatorial Regulation Concerning the Acceleration of Malaria Elimination held in the Tepian Meeting Room, Fl. 2 East Kalimantan Governor's Office.

This meeting was opened by the Head of the Provincial Health Office. East Kalimantan Dr. Masjaya and attended by related regional apparatus including the Health Service, Legal Bureau, Social Welfare Bureau, AWS Regional Hospital, DLH Manpower and Transmigration Office, Health Lab UPTD and UNMUL Public Health Faculty.

Malaria as an infectious disease that is still a public health problem has an impact on reducing the quality of Human Resources. Therefore, regulations and working group teams need to be formed to accelerate malaria elimination.

Elimination of malaria is carried out in stages in District/City areas according to stages based on the malaria situation and the condition of available resources.

The most important thing in malaria elimination activities is controlling risk factors. Risk factors that influence the occurrence of malaria transmission are malaria vectors and the environment where they breed as well as community habits that allow malaria transmission.

This meeting discussed the phrases and word-by-article editorials in the draft Governor's regulations as well as the sequence of applicable laws and regulations.

Regencies/cities in East Kalimantan that have eliminated malaria by 2022 are Samarinda City, Balikpapan City, Bontang City, Kab. Kukar and Kab. Mahulu.

For the Bappeda Malaria Elimination Acceleration Team as a Team Member who has the task of coordinating the preparation of work plan documents and regional apparatus budgets including in terms of maintaining malaria elimination.
