Inspection and Inauguration of the UPTD PPI Nyamukan Office Building in Sangatta, East Kutai Regency

Continuing the series of activities on the agenda of the Governor of East Kalimantan's working visit to the northern region (Samarinda - Bontang - Kutim - Berau) on the second day (Saturday, 18 December 2021), the Governor of East Kalimantan visited and inaugurated the UPTD PPI Kenyamukan office building located in Sangatta, East Kutai Regency. At the same time, 1 motorized tourist boat was also handed over, assistance for the rehabilitation of uninhabitable houses for residents and distribution of basic food packages with the Mulawarman University Alumni Family Association (IKA).

The PPI building was built for licensing services and community fulfillment in the fisheries sector. This building was built with a budget of approximately 700 million.

The Head of the East Kalimantan Province Maritime and Fisheries Service said that this location is still facing a number of obstacles, including:

Shallowing of port entry channels, preventing ships from docking at the pier; Signs are still minimal; The pier still has ironwood construction and needs to be repaired; The sheet pile is not yet optimal, causing tidal flooding in the surrounding area.

The Governor of East Kalimantan expressed his hope that the construction of the PPI office and the provision of assistance currently being implemented can be utilized optimally by the community. The Governor also hopes that the community can protect the surrounding environment, and that development carried out, especially in mosquito areas, will still pay attention to environmental aspects.

The Secretary together with the divisions at the Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province and other members of the entourage also accompanied the Governor during this visit.
