It should be noted, as stated by the Head of the East Kalimantan Province Food Service - TPH, that Berau Regency supplies approximately 70% of East Kalimantan's corn production. However, increasing production is still constrained by the limited availability of production equipment such as dryers.
In his speech, the Governor of East Kalimantan invited the residents of Berau Regency to be grateful for being blessed with extraordinary soil fertility. Corn production produced by the community has become a contributor to local regional income which supports the development process.
The agricultural sector in Berau Regency is slowly becoming a leading sector that can replace the role of the mining sector. The Governor is grateful for the enthusiasm shown by the community and the Provincial Government will continue to support the improvement of the agricultural sector in Berau Regency.
