Preparation of Water Resources Management Policy Recommendations in Prospective New Capital City

Samarinda, (11/20/2020). In order to capture information and enrich data and information the National Water Resources Board held a meeting to prepare a Water Resources Management Policy Recommendation in Prospective New Capital Capital through the Zoom Meeting application .

This meeting aims to provide recommendations for water resource management policies in new capital and surrounding areas.

In managing natural resources, most of the KIPP & KIKN regions are in Das Sanggai, based on processed data, it can be projected with household, urban and industrial water needs (RKI) in 2035 of 0.54 m3/dtk, agricultural water needs and M3/DTK and water requirements for fisheries of 0.046 M3/DTK in 2035.

From the data shown above, it can be projected in 2035 with a population of 1.9 million people, can be distributed water of 8,508 LT/DTK for meeting water needs and Balikpapan supporting cities, Kec. Sepaku and Samboja sub -district assuming the population growth rate of 2.3%/year and water requirements 150lt/org/day).

On this occasion, several recommendations from the National Water Resources Board of SDA support were obtained by the IKN, namely; Recommendations to ensure the availability of water in quantity, quality, and continuity (water balance), ecological sustainability through integrated and sustainable management efforts (integrated water resources management), formulate the suggestions and input of the substance of the RTRW of East Kalimantan Province, Penajam Paser Utara and Kutai Kartanegara Regency which Institutional Management of Water Resources, SPAM and Wastewater, as well as compatible watersheds for integrated and sustainable management, make the policy of management of related water and land resources (DAS Sepaku and Semoi-Semoulang Watershed) into a pilot policy of WS and DAS management in Indonesia.
