East Kalimantan Baznas Coordination Meeting
Friday, 02/04/2022. Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province, represented by the Secretary of Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province (Mrs. Charmarijaty ST, M.Si) attended the invitation to the National Zakat Amil Agency (Baznas) Coordination Meeting throughout East Kalimantan with the theme "Strengthening the Role of Baznas to Become the Main Institution for the Welfare of the People" which was held in the Balikpapan Hajj dormitory building.
This coordination meeting was attended by elements of the Provincial, Regency/City Government, Central/Regional Baznas Leaders, Baznas Supervisory Board, relevant Vertical Agencies, as well as Regional Apparatus within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government .
This coordination meeting is a routine activity carried out to consolidate the implementation of zakat in East Kalimantan in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 23 of 2011 concerning zakat management. The potential for zakat in East Kalimantan is approximately 1.1 trillion and in 2022, Baznas Kaltim is targeting zakat collection in East Kalimantan of 102 billion. The hope is that in the future, all ASN within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government will be able to distribute their zakat through the East Kalimantan Province Baznas.
The Deputy Governor of East Kalimantan in his speech and direction said that the East Kalimantan Provincial Government will support the role and function of Baznas in East Kalimantan so that the implementation of zakat management in East Kalimantan can run optimally and get better so that it can help improve the welfare of the people.
